CTEC is a California non-profit Corporation that registers tax preparers. Anyone who charges a fee, assists with, or prepares a state or federal income tax return, must be registered with CTEC (some restrictions apply). Filing a simple return can be confusing and it's easy to overlook deductions and credits to which you are entitled. Even if you use a computer software program there's no substitute for the assistance of an experienced tax professional. I'm dedicated to keeping my tax preparation skills up to date with continuing education classes throughout the year.
